ELPIDA is the only Japanese company that produces dynamic random access memory (DRAM) computers such as computers, and has third market share in the DRAM world. It was established in 1999 and listed on the main board of the Tokyo stock exchange in 2004. With the outbreak of the financial crisis in the fall of 2008, the company's performance deteriorated rapidly. In February 27, 2012, the company filed for bankruptcy protection. MICRON completed the acquisition and merger of ELPIDA in 2013.
